Our service, food, and drinks reflect our desire to assist others in doing what we love to do. With a focus on local ingredients, we embrace the seasons and celebrate the bounty of this incredible state we are so lucky to call home.

We offer many different styles of feasting, a full bar service, and many levels of party planning, often allowing our clients to skip hiring outside services. Our crew consists of industry-veterans who are both professional and professionally bad ass. 

 
 

KATIE

CREATIVE DIRECTOR | OWNER

Katie loves throwing parties.

Katie also loves creating an all-inclusive, laughter-filled environment, no matter where we are. Born n’ raised in Southern New Hampshire, her future in Maine was never far away. A Maine College of Art grad, her art and design background fuels much of what she brings to B+B….that, and her near-obsession with spreadsheets, forms and learning how to do something new every day. Her decades in the Portland restaurant scene have led to an extensive knowledge of human psychology, crowd control, food, drink and incredible friendships. These friendships are the basis upon which B+B has become what it is today.

Katie is a collector, a conductor, and incredibly grateful.

Josh

HEAD CHEF | OWNER

Hailing from Western PA, Josh landed here after hiking the Appalachian Trail and taking a “summer job” at Street & Co. in 2000. One year later he opened what is now a fixture in South Portland, his bagel shop/cafe 158 Pickett Street Cafe. Josh loves the land and knows how to live in, off and amongst it. An avid hunter, fisherman, scavenger, forager, surfer, skier, hiker, he honors all this land has to offer. He learned to cook from his grandmother and all those that have done so around him and now he aims to elevate his skill every day. B+B’s menu is his way of sharing all of these passions with whomever, whenever, wherever.

Kelly

Kelly

HEAD OF OPERATIONS

Kelly has been an integral part of The Bread + Butter family since 2014. She wears many hats as our Director Of Operations; she gracefully balances everything from forming and maintaining friendly and professional relationships with our front of house and back of house staff, to on-site management and client-facing hospitality. Kelly has a passion for creating incredible experiences for our clients, their friends and their families. Her knowledge and expertise of the culinary world brings a contagious excitement to the B+B team. When Kelly is not at her desk, at a venue or spending time with clients, you can find her exploring a new love of cookbooks, sailing in Casco Bay or hopping in her car for a sporadic road trip down the coast. We are grateful to have Kelly as a leader and guide and we can promise, you will be, too!

 

Emma

WEDDING COORDINATOR

Emma fell in love with Portland during a brief visit in 2010 and decided to relocate from her hometown of Montreal to the coast of Maine. After settling in, Emma joined the (soon to be known as) Southside Productions/Bread + Butter family at their historically loved cafe, 158 Pickett Street. Emma played a key role in organizing pop-ups and private events hosted by Bread + Butter founders, Katie and Josh. Before long, she was recruited as the main wedding coordinator, working closely with clients to create personalized food and bar menus. Emma's experience and attention to detail help ensure seamless events for her clients. She currently resides in Portland with her husband, Andrew, and their dog, Millie, along with their three boys, Wylie, Charlie, and Alexis.

AMARA

CORPORATE + NON-PROFIT EVENT COORDINATOR

Born in CT and raised in the woods of mid-coast Maine in the summer, Amara finally rooted herself in Portland after traveling extensively in Africa and India. Former dancer, part-time farmer, full-time foodie and environmentalist, Amara has an interest in how things came to be, a drive to make them better, and a belief that it is from points of struggle that we grow the most.

 

We have a true passion for FOOD.
